After many many years campaigning and chasing, we were delighted to take a recent family group over the new Essex Road/Rotherfield Street crossing, to join C27, on our way over to Hackney.
This is a great improvement – not just for people on bikes, but people on foot too – and makes crossing from Canonbury East to Canonbury West so much easier and safer.
A big thank you to the council and its contractors – particularly when just as the new junction was completed, there was a flood caused by a burst Thames Water pipe which closed things down again ! The new SUDS just need to be planted up with some much-needed greenery and this will be a thing of beauty for everyone.
We just have to celebrate the wins !
